2000 - ish

Images painted around year 2000, most of them in my spare time, some at school. The square images are about 60 x 60 cm. (I can't seem to be able to arrange these images on the page the way I'd like to so this will have to do for now.)
All these paintings are oil on cardboard, the square ones having been painted on a thicker "posh" cardboard, whilst others have been painted on a thinner, flexible sheet of card, or 2 sheets of cardboard glued together to form a larger area.

So these images scattered all around this text paragraph are the ones painted on a nice thick solid type of cardboard.

The strange looking plant with one leaf and the odd character in a scarecrow like posture are very dear to me, and so is the tiny branch of a plant that leans towards that window.  That is an actual tiny tree that I had at that time and which was a perfect model, it never required any breaks, and it never moved. The two quinces below, again, very dear to me, one of them has been painted by using a thicker paste while

the other was painted with many transparent layers. I don't think I have them anymore although I can't recall selling them.
Finally, this dude on the left who carries a huge apple, that was called "The thief in the Garden of Eden", it's strange work even though it is me who painted it.

The cherries... One of my best moments, the blue cherry  with a light switch. Up there with the quinces, the wee tree and that scarecrow like dude called "Atomic Snowman From Mars".

These 2 images here, on either side of this text have been painted for school. I was quite chuffed with the guy with the guitar, messed it all up with the off colours in the background. If one must then one must... And a few more images painted in my spare time, the guy with a "quince wannabe" and a frying pan has been painted in egg tempera, which was quite interesting a technique. The first two images below on the left have been painted on two sheets of card glued together, they were rather large, measuring at around
200 cm x 140 cm. -ish. The dude with the quince and a frying pan is about 140x100 cm , and the two studies as well as the last image on this page are 140 cm x 100 cm -ish.
I guess that "grotesque" element will always be around, lurking, making it's presence felt sometimes.
